Feature modules

Switch features like the live board, tips, messaging and payroll export on or off — and choose scheduled shifts or open clock-in — so the app shows only what your business uses.

WagePilot is modular. Rather than drown a small café in features it will never use, you switch capabilities on and off so the menu only shows what your business needs. The Modules card lives on the Settings page, and every switch saves the instant you tap it — there is no separate Save step.

Each card is one switch. Tap it and the feature appears or disappears from everyone’s menu straight away.

Choose your operating mode first

Above the module grid is a two-way choice that sets how the whole app behaves:

Scheduled shifts
Build rotas and assign shifts. Cover & swaps and availability are available.
Open clock-in
No rotas — staff clock in whenever they start. The rota, cover, swaps and availability all step aside and hide.

  1. 1

Tap a card to flip it

The whole card is the switch. It turns on or off immediately and a toast confirms — “Live board turned on”. If the save fails it flips back and tells you why.

  2. 2

    Watch the counter

The chip at the top of the card reads how many are on, e.g. 6/9 on.

  3. 3

    Note the greyed-out cards

In Open clock-in mode, Cover & swaps and Availability are dimmed and read “Needs shift scheduling” — switch to Scheduled shifts to use them.

Common questions

Do I lose data when I turn a module off?
No. A module toggle only hides the feature from the menu. Your tips history, messages or documents are untouched and reappear the moment you switch it back on. The same is true of your plan: dropping to a plan that no longer includes a feature stops you creating new things with it, and never removes or hides what you have already created.
A module is switched on but the page asks me to upgrade. Why?
The module toggle and your plan are two different switches. The toggle decides whether the feature appears in your menu at all; your plan decides whether you can use it. Tips and tronc, team messages and payroll export need Core or up, and HR documents needs Pro or up, as the Plan column above shows. Kiosk mode needs no plan at all: it is on every rung, Free included, like the other two ways of clocking in. Everything already created stays readable and exportable whatever plan you are on.
Cover & swaps is greyed out — why?
It needs shifts to exist, so it’s only available in Scheduled shifts mode. If you’re in Open clock-in, switch the operating mode at the top of the Modules card and it becomes available again.
