Your availability

Tell your manager which days and times you can work each week, mark the days you’d prefer, and block the ones you can’t — so the rota is built around when you’re actually free.

Open in WagePilot Available where the Availability module is enabled

Availability is how you tell your manager when you can work. They see it as they build the rota — and get a warning if a shift lands on a day you said you can’t do — so the week is shaped around when you’re actually free. You reach it from your profile, under Your availability.

A week of days, each set to Yes, Prefer or No, with optional time windows on the days you can work.

The week at a glance

The card at the top counts how many of the seven days you’re open to work, and how many you’ve marked as preferred. It’s the quick read your manager gets too. The Save button is up here — nothing you change takes effect until you tap it.

Setting each day

Every day, Monday to Sunday, has a three-way switch:

Yes
You can work that day. The default.
Prefer
You can work it and you’d like to — your manager sees these as a green “preferred” nudge on the rota.
No
You can’t work that day. It reads “You won’t be scheduled this day”, and your manager is warned if they try to put a shift on it.
  1. 1

    Choose Yes, Prefer or No

Tap the switch for each day.

  2. 2

Set a time window if you need to

On a Yes or Prefer day, Any time that day is on by default. Turn it off to add a From and To — say you can only do 09:00–13:00 on a Wednesday.

  3. 3

    Save

Tap Save. You’ll see “Availability saved”. Do it whenever your circumstances change — it’s not a one-off.

Common questions

Does marking a day “No” stop my manager scheduling me?
It doesn’t hard-block them, but they get a clear warning if they try to put a shift on a day you’ve marked unavailable. It’s the signal that keeps the rota built around when you can actually work.
What’s the difference between “Yes” and “Prefer”?
Both mean you can work. “Prefer” adds that you’d like to — your manager sees preferred days highlighted, so they can lean towards the times that suit you when the rota allows.
Can I say I’m only free part of a day?
Yes. On any Yes or Prefer day, turn off “Any time that day” and set a From and To time — for example free only in the mornings. Your manager sees that window when they schedule you.
